WV Sheriffs’ Association Endorses Salango

MARCH 23, 2020

CHARLESTON, WV — Today, the West Virginia Sheriffs’ Association PAC endorsed Kanawha County Commissioner Ben Salango for governor.

Citing Salango’s work in Kanawha County to increase pay for sheriff’s deputies, secure 12 weeks of paid family leave for county employees, and provide law enforcement with the tools needed to get the job done, the Sheriffs’ Association PAC said Salango was the best choice for West Virginia.

“Ben Salango has proven that he is a friend of West Virginia sheriffs and will be a governor who can get things done for law enforcement,” said Kanawha County Sheriff Mike Rutherford, past president of the WV Sheriffs’ Association. “In times of crisis, we need the steady leadership that Ben Salango will bring to the job of governor. We are standing with Ben because we know he will do right by the people of West Virginia and keep communities safe.”

Commissioner Salango added, “It’s an honor to have the backing of West Virginia’s sheriffs. They do an important job and are on the frontlines in every community across our state. I look forward to working with them to move West Virginia forward and make sure they have the support they need to get the job done.”
