December 19, 2019

CHARLESTON, WV – Today, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132 endorsed Kanawha County commissioner Ben Salango for governor in the 2020 election.

"More than ever, as labor is under attack, West Virginia needs a leader that will stand up for working families. Ben is a champion for working families. His vision and work ethic gives us the best option for moving West Virginia forward, and strengthening our labor unions. Ben made sure the Shawnee Sports Complex was built with union labor because understands that value of skilled workers and good-paying jobs"  Chuck Parker, IUOE Local 132 Business Manager

"I am honored to have the support of the IUOE Local 132 in this campaign," said Commissioner Salango. "As a Kanawha County Commissioner, when it was time to build the Shawnee Sports Complex, we knew that if we wanted the job done right, we had to hire local professionals. We must stop the attacks on West Virginia workers, and move our state forward with good-paying jobs and safe working conditions. I’ll be a governor who will ensure working families have a seat at the table."

Salango was recently endorsed by the Upper Ohio Valley Building Trades and the South Charleston Firefighters.
