Salango Accepts Invitations to Five Debates, Calls on Justice to Join Him
JULY 31, 2020
CHARLESTON, WV --Today, Democratic nominee for West Virginia Governor Ben Salango officially accepted invitations to participate in five media-sponsored debates ahead of the November election. Jim Justice has yet to accept four out of the five debate invitations--these include events hosted by WSAZ, Nexstar Media, Stubblefield Institute at Shepherd University and WRNR/TV10 Martinsburg, and WCHS/WTOV. Salango and Justice will meet for the West Virginia Broadcasters Association Debate on October 13th.
“Since the Justice administration took over, he has made it a point to make the office less transparent to the media and the public,” said Democratic nominee for West Virginia Governor Salango. “Our state is in crisis--from lack of drinkable water during a global health pandemic, to a growing opioid problem, unsafe roads, and a declining population. Justice also must answer to West Virginians about his lack of leadership. We have a lot to talk about, and I hope he will join me in a public forum where he cannot dodge these important questions,” concluded Salango.
