AFT Locals in Raleigh and Marshall Endorse Salango
CHARLESTON, WV— Today, Democratic candidate for governor Ben Salango was endorsed by AFT- Raleigh County and AFT-Marshall County.
They join AFT affiliates in Fayette, Roane, Cabell, and Kanawha in backing Commissioner Salango’s campaign. Salango now has over 25 key labor endorsements and continues to pick up support around the state, including the WV School Service Personnel.
“We are proud to stand with Ben Salango because he stands with West Virginia educators and we know he will make a fantastic governor,” said Linda Boyd, president of AFT-Raleigh. “West Virginia deserves a governor who will fight for our public schools and the people who make them great. After interviewing candidates, we are confident that Ben Salango is the best choice.”
“Having the support of so many West Virginia educators and public school employees is truly an honor,” said Kanawha County Commissioner Ben Salango. “When I’m governor, I will work with our teachers and school service personnel to improve every school in West Virginia. I will raise pay for public school employees, give teachers the freedom to teach, fix PEIA, and put a nurse and mental health professional in all of our schools.”
